ROAD TRIP? CHECK.
Oh hi y’all.
We’re back from our epic road trip across (half of) America. We’re almost out of recovery mode, as being cooped up in a Chevy HHR isn’t as comfortable as it sounds. Actually, it doesn’t sound comfortable at all, does it?
All kidding aside, we had a wonderful time with Reba, our rental car. Until she died on us in Memphis. We gave the ol’ broad a...

Athens, Atlanta, New Orleans
We are sitting in New Orleans now, already one of the most amazing cities I’ve ever been in. Last night we attended the first annual Foberg Festival (we’ll attend again tonight). Saw three bands and they were all fantastic. The bars in NOLA don’t close and you can drink in the streets.
This sort of freaks me out.
But I also sort of like it. Love it.
Last night at the...
Day 4 Atl->NOLA
Way too much happened yesterday to write about. Felt like three days. The daytime of the half was dedicated solely to traveling, so we took multiple detours and managed to stay off of interstates the majority of the way.
First cut through Talladega State Forrest, and its opposite, Talladega Superspeedway (their word, not mine). Another word they invented down here is “Cheernastics”. Apparently...
The first 24 hours: New York, Richmond, Durham,...
Hey y’all! I’m said “ya’ll” because we’re not south of the Mason-Dixon line (anybody remember that boxer for the newish Rocky movie called Mason Dixon? Lame)! We’re at a restaurant in Blowing Rock, NC right now, overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains. Predictably, the first time I did upon entering the Blue Ridge Mountains was to play the song by the...
Today!
We leave today!! We’re going to do our absolute best (with wifi’s cooperation) to do at least one update per day, hopefully more. So check back often.
And now, I need to finish getting ready; we leave in 4 hours. Richmond, VA tonight!
BIG THANKS...
…to you! And you, and you, and you too!
We’re almost there. 8 days away and we’ve almost hit our $1,400 goal!
We’d like to thank all the blogs and websites that have written about us over the past few weeks that have generated a lot of buzz for us.

On twitter? We need your help...to get Chuck...
Hey all One of my biggest influences in this project has been Chuck Klosterman. I’ve long been a huge fan of his columns and books (Spin Magazine hasn’t been the same since he was fired…) and I’ve found that I pattern my own writings on his work more than almost any other author. No other writer today is able to write in such an engaging, interesting and humorous way...
SHOWCASE SUCCESS
On Friday, we had our showcase, Sound Through Sight: A Concert, in support of our book. The lineup originally included Common Prayer, mynameisjohnmichael, Miracles of Modern Science and Dynasty Electric. However, due to an unforeseen head injury, the showcase was shortened to Common Prayer & mynameisjohnmichael. Oh, the disadvantage of modern concussions. Regardless, the performances of...

…and we’ve already raised 56% of our goal on Kickstarter.
We’re speechless. Well, figuratively speaking, we are. I may as well just end the post now to really make an impact over how blown away we are.
But no, thanks are in order to all those who have given us their time, money and support. It is truly an overwhelming feeling, seeing the interest in our project manifest in...
We launched on Kickstarter! And we have a concert...
Hey everybody
I’m going to go ahead and apologize now but I’m probably going to be pretty gratuitous with my exclamation point usage on this tumblr. But with good reason; there is just so much to be excited about. Where do I start?
Well, we went live on Kickstarter this afternoon. You can check out our project here. Thanks to the generosity of friends, family, and some complete...
